I worked on this project as the sole Product Designer, reporting to a Design Director and collaborating with a cross-functional team that included a Product Manager, Product Owner, backend and frontend engineers, and a QA specialist.

Solution
Emex is one of the largest marketplaces for auto parts in Russia. The company's sorting centers constantly store 12—13k goods.
We worked on a web application for warehouse managers, equipping it with various features, including the ability to access a full archive of supplies from the past two years.
Users complained that the search within the archived supply list often didn't work properly: it was extremely slow and sometimes failed to display information that definitely existed.
Full supply archive (last 2 years). List displayed with infinite scroll, sorted by receipt date (most recent first)
Archived supply details
Main User Story for this screen: As a Warehouse Manager, I want to quickly locate a specific archived supply (or package within it), so that I can verify its receipt and processing status to resolve delivery issues

- Problem Research (Technical)
1. Calendar addition
2. Informational messaging
2. Problem Research (UX)
3. Interface Solution Development
- I asked the developers to investigate why the search wasn’t working.
- They reported that the issue stemmed from the size of the supply database. The search took too long, causing the connection to fail due to a timeout.
- I conducted user interviews to gather more details about situations where warehouse managers needed to search for archived supplies and what exact criteria they were using.
- Key finding: They always knew the precise or approximate supply date and searched primarily by name or number.
- A calendar was added to the supply list interface.
- The search for an archived supply is now always limited to the time period set in the calendar. This allows the system to process the request much faster compared to searching the two-year archive previously.
- An informational message regarding the set time period and a "Show Earlier" button were added to the bottom of the list.
- If a user performs a search but cannot find the desired supply, they can easily extend the search period using this button, without manually resetting the date range in the calendar.
- This message also serves as a reminder to the user that they are viewing a filtered list, helping them stay aware of the applied constraints.
- Bonus: Users are no longer required to know the exact name or number of the supply beforehand, making resolving delivery issues easier and faster.
- Clearly, we needed to find a way to narrow down the search scope.
- I developed the interface solution → got approval from Product Manager and Design Lead → created the final layouts → delivered layouts to the development team.

Result
User satisfaction with the supply archive search feature increased, according to user interviews.
Users completely stopped reaching out to technical support regarding search-related issues.
